Though “they” are both different levels of energy of BHAGAVAN “they” are the same thus Lakshmi does not compete with Saraswati which is what your initial post indicated.

  4. Enigma1990ad says:

I am obviously familiar with “their” iconography but as any learned Hindu would know Lakshmi, Saraswati and Durga are all forms of the SAME Devi just as Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva are forms of the SAME Dev. This Devi and Dev are forms of that ONE Paramaatma that is BHAGAVAN. Also I have never heard of Lakshmi and Saraswati as sisters.

  5. adifferentmatt says:

If you would like to get technical, WE are all “ONE”. Other then that Saraswati & Lakshmi are to different entities. Yes they both appear similar in physical traits (both have four arms) Lakshmi is usually dressed in red holding red flowers in her top hands and usually coins and jewels in the others. Saraswati is usually dressed in all white & holding an instrument. Most Hinduism relates Saraswati & Laksmhi as sisters. I’m only going by what I was taught. Namaste ॐ

  6. Enigma1990ad says:

Saraswati and Lakshmi are ONE. One cannot compete with oneself.

  7. adifferentmatt says:

Lakshmi is the Goddess of prosperity, Saraswati is the Goddess of knowledge. Lakshmi is known to be a jealous goddess, perhaps she gave you a gift to lure your love and worship her way 😉

I have no idea. This is from a Saraswati CD by Times Music India.

Why isn’t Saraswati’s seed sound “aim” used here?

the pure devotion implies thankfulness, also the word namah is a way of thanking.. but for boons granted after worship do not ask for thanks, but for gratefulness

  16. Enigma1990ad says:

It’s actually a mantra praising Bhagavan (The Divine One) as a whole. Paramaatma refers to the One Universal Soul that controls all and is all. So yes it can be used for any deity 🙂

  17. AhnNightingale says:

Can this mantra (jai para aatma bhagavan) be used to thank any deity that has helped you, or is it specific to Sarasvati? Thank you. 🙂
